Gareth Southgate could have a decision to make on Kalvin Phillips' place in the England squad, with the midfielder yet to report for international duty.
Phillips was called up by the England boss for their final Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia despite his lack of game time at Manchester City.
The England boss allowed Phillips extra time off due to personal matters but with Friday's game on the horizon, the 27-year-old is unlikely to feature.
Marcus Rashford was also given time off for personal matters but returned to training on Wednesday and should be in contention for the fixture at Wembley Stadium.
Southgate is expected to ring the changes for both fixtures and experiment as he looks to assess all of his options ahead of the finals in Germany next year.
Marc Guehi is one of those pining for a start but knows he faces plenty of competition from the likes of John Stones, Harry Maguire and Ezri Konsa, who received his first call-up to the senior squad.
"It is hard to even think about that (starting at the Euros) just because there are so many top players here," the Crystal Palace defender said.
"To even try and put your name wherever is difficult. Ezri [Konsa] has been called up - a top player.
"Fikayo [Tomori] is always here, obviously Harry. John will come back - there are so many players so it is hard to imagine."
