Lessons to learn: Don’t do this
YouTuber IShowSpeed angered Manchester City fans after he was filmed celebrating Real Madrid’s opening goal in the home end at the Etihad Stadium.
City and Madrid met in the second leg of their Champions League quarter final, a week after the two played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Spanish capital.
It was Carlo Ancelotti’s side who drew first blood though as Rodrygo capitalised on Kyle Walker’s lapse of concentration to move in front and score at the second attempt after Ederson saved his initial attempt.
Speed celebrates among home end fans
The YouTuber, who has caused controversy in the past for his behaviour at games, was in attendance for the quarter final tie and is perhaps best known for his love of Cristiano Ronaldo.
This time the American was supporting Madrid – probably because of the Ronaldo connection – and after Rodrygo’s goal, began to celebrate wildly in the home end.
Fans inside the ground were evidently angry and those online were also critical of the internet star.
“Sort s**t like this out for f**k sake,” commented one fan.
Another said: This is a f*****g disgrace. @ManCity This guy should be kicked out. Is our home, we shouldn’t allow this lack of respect And more so, when is impossible to get tickets as a fan… Just because is a useless YouTuber? FFS.
“This guy is an idiot,” wrote a third.
Heading to extra time
In the end, Man City’s dominance paid off as Kevin De Bruyne equalised in the second half however neither side could find a winner in the 90 minutes, taking the game to extra time.
