Harry Kane could be out for the season after serious ankle injury

Things don't look good for the England captain

Harry Kane hobbled off just before the hour mark with a very serious looking ankle injury during Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City in London. The England captain was on the receiving end of a nasty challenge from his international teammate Fabian Delph, who appeared to go in slightly too high and with his studs-showing on the Spurs striker as they battled for the ball near the touchline. Kane immediately struggled to put weight on his foot and proceeded to hobble straight down the tunnel with the aid of two of Tottenham's medical staff. It's not good news for Spurs as they fight in the Champions League and indeed, for Champions League qualification next season, as it is on the same left ankle that the forward injured in January. If it proves to be further ligament damage it will almost certainly rule him out for the rest of the season. It could even have consequences for England, who will contest the inaugural UEFA Nations League Finals starting with a match against the Netherlands in June.
