It's fair to say that since then, those words have backfired and during an Instagram livestream ahead of United's Premier League trip to Liverpool on Sunday, Neville tried to get Souness to admit he was wrong, but the former Scotland international refused to eat his words.
Neville said: "Can we have an apology for your call on Casemiro? Are you changing your mind on him?"
Souness quickly intervened, saying: "What did I call him?"

"But he's more than a steady Eddie," Neville argued.
"I would describe Casemiro as a foundation piece that you can build your team on. I like him, there's nothing to dislike him," said Souness.
A win at Anfield will see United move to within six points of second-placed Manchester City, with two games in hand.
