Erik ten Hag angrily reacted when asked if almost all of his Manchester United squad were available for transfer.
Reports earlier this week stated that nearly all of the first team would be considered as ‘up for sale’ as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to generate funds to reinvent the squad.
They added that Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund were the only players that wouldn't be sold for any price.
United spent around the £1bn mark to assemble their current team but that hasn’t transcended into performances on the pitch as another disappointing season looks likely for the Red Devils.
Since they are likely to miss out on Champions League football, the club are going to have to rely on player sales to generate the required funds.
Names such as Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were also allegedly available - but those two would only leave for hefty fees.
When asked about the possibility of a major squad rebuild, Ten Hag quickly snapped and played down all reports that he could be dealing with a new-look side next season.
"It's a joke! As long as I worked here, every summer, 200 players are getting an interest from Manchester United, which is untrue. We did some research," he exclaimed.
"Every summer, we sell every player in our squad. Which is untrue. Be calm and take responsibility when you take such a headline. It is totally c**p.
"I am now going into my fifth window, two windows were ok, two windows we missed. We have to make new improvements in the summer. There is a base of this squad that is very good. Injuries had a big impact on our season."
United's hopes of finishing in the top four are all but over however they could still end the season with some silverware if they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
