Manchester United are preparing for a summer of change in the playing department.
Reports earlier this week stated that nearly all of the first team would be considered as 'up for sale' as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to generate funds to reinvent the squad.
United spent around the £1bn mark to assemble their current team but that hasn't transcended into performances on the pitch as another disappointing season looks likely for the Red Devils.
Since they are likely to miss out on Champions League football, the club are going to have to rely on player sales to generate the required funds, as explained by the BBC.
Combining with the CIES Football Observatory and Transfermarkt, the value of each United player was assessed.
If they were to sell every single player in the squad, United would generate an estimated amount of £846m - based on the research from the two outlets.
We already know that the club have confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund are the only ones to be exempt from any possible exit.
Marcus Rashford is unsurprisingly the player that would provide the most money having been valued at £106m.
As he is an academy graduate, any sale of him would also class as straight profit, easing any potential profit and sustainability concerns.
Antony is next at £63m. This would still represent a loss on the £86m they paid for him in 2022 but given his performances, it would be more than people would expect.
Bruno Fernandes is far lower than anyone would expect at £60m however the fact he is the wrong side of 30 means that clubs may be more reluctant to spend the big bucks on the Portugal international.
Names such as Christian Eriksen, Raphael Varane and Casemiro will be welcome departures when it comes to their wages but for any transfer fees, expect them to be near-to-nothing, at least in the footballing world.
