Dele Alli close to agreeing personal terms with Everton

Everton are hoping to sign Dele on a permanent move

Dele Alli will be given a chance to revitalise his career as he closes in on agreeing personal terms with Everton. The attacking midfielder has struggled for opportunities at Tottenham in the last couple of the years and is on the fringes of Antonio Conte's side. Dele's move will see him link up with Frank Lampard, who was appointed as Everton manager on Monday, as well as become teammates Manchester United's Donny van de Beek who is set to join the Toffees on loan. Lampard's track record with young English talent makes a move to Merseyside an attractive prospect for Dele as he goes in search of regular first-team football. Premier League rules state that any club can only have a maximum of two players in on loan at any one time, and having already signed Anwar El Ghazi from Aston Villa on a short-term loan, Van de Beek will take the other available loan slot. Everton, therefore, are hoping to sign Dele from Tottenham on a permanent basis. Dele hasn't featured in an England squad since 2019, with the midfielder's drop in form leaving him well behind the likes of Mason Mount and Jack Grealish in the pecking order for the attacking midfield slots. The 25-year-old has made 18 appearances in all competitions so far this season - however the majority of those have come off the bench and were at the start of the season under previous manager, Nuno Espirito Santo. Despite his dip in form in recent years, Dele still boasts a respectable record of 67 goals and 61 assists in 269 games for Tottenham, having excelled under Mauricio Pochettino. Related links:
