Tevez recently confirmed his playing days were over
Carlos Tevez is set to land his first role in management after he became one of the favourites to take over at Argentine side, Rosario Central.
Reports in Tevez's homeland have linked him to the role in what would be his first position in football since his retirement was confirmed
The 38-year-old hasn't played since leaving Boca Juniors last year and recently confirmed his playing days were over, citing the death of his father as a reason as to why he couldn't continue.
But Rosario have offered the former Manchester United and City striker a route into football, speaking to the club's vice-president, Ricardo Carloni and technical secretary Raul Gordillo.
Tevez is favourite but isn't the only one in the running, with Pablo 'Vitamina' Sanchez also being considered for the position. Rosario are set to make a final decision on Friday.

Despite being the initial outsider, given his lack of managerial experience, Tevez had been installed as the underdog to land the job. But reports say that he impressed during the meetings and stands a real good chance of being offered the role.
The former striker even expressed his desire to manage in a recent interview with
Ole.
He said: "I'm going to be a coach, I made the decision that I'm going to manage. I got excited, I'm very hooked... I'm ready to manage now."
In order to help broaden his coaching knowledge, Tevez has travelled to Europe to oversee training sessions at the likes of Juventus and AC Milan as he prepares for his own coaching career.
Tevez had an extremely successful career, winning three Premier League titles, two Scudetti and the Champions League.
