Football fan falls flat with ambitious promotion appeal

After watching his team suffer a play-off final defeat, one Middlesbrough fan succumbed to a desperate last resort.

Please check these facts if you believe me incorrect. “I thank you for your co-operation and agreeing this with email and I will look forward to correction this injustice and bringing this trophy back to where it belongs.” Sadly he didn't get the response he was after, with FA spokesperson Andrew Pomfret writing “While we note your suggestions I’m afraid we have to go with the result of the final itself."
