Phil Foden: What Man City midfielder’s neck tattoo says

JOE

Really important news

Phil Foden has a tattoo. A neck tattoo.

If like us, you thought your eyes were deceiving you, don’t worry; they are not. It really is there: an actual real-tattoo, starting just behind his ear and running vertically down the side of the Stockport Iniesta™’s neck.

The City youngster was first spotted sporting the tattoo during a club training session at the start of February 2022, prior to the FA Cup fourth round meeting with Fulham.

It is still there, meaning it is a proper tattoo, not just something John Stones has drawn on with a Bic biro when Foden fell asleep on the team bus back from an away game.

What does Phil Foden’s neck tattoo say?

The tattoo comes in the form of a four-word message: ‘Sky is the limit’, perhaps a reference to the boundless footballing potential the talented youngster possesses.

The tattoo is the work of artist Gabriel Maniak, who confirmed in a post on Instagram that it was Foden’s first tattoo – and that plans have already been made for more. Exciting stuff.

‘We already have plans for adding more to His collection,’ he posted.

Foden best known for being good at football, not his neck tattoo

Foden turns 23 later this year and has continued to progress under Pep Guardiola, under whom he has become an integral part of Manchester City’s success in recent seasons.

The midfielder is also expected to be in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

He was named as a starter for England at Euro 2020 but missed out on the final, which the Three Lions lost on penalties against Italy, after picking up a foot injury during a training session.

But you’re not here for any of that. You’re here for neck tattoo pictures. Here, enjoy:
