For one brief moment on Thursday, Floyd Mayweather said something of his fight with Conor McGregor that seemed 100% genuine.

That's because he's not only is he one of the greatest boxers to ever grace a ring, but he's also a world class promoter. Think about all the things Mayweather has said to the media to hype up his August 26 date with 'The Notorious'. A lot of what 'the Money Team' have said has been calculated compliments about the Dubliner's abilities in order to convince the naysayers that he has a chance of winning. Although his comments implied that he would be pushing the action against the MMA knockout artist, which is up for debate in a big way, the suggestion that the fight going the distance would be a moral victory for McGregor rings true.

"I would say so. If the fight goes the distance it is a win for him. But I don’t think that is going to happen. He is going around saying that it will be over in four rounds, and he might be right. But it will be because I say so, and not him."

McGregor may very well outclass him over 12 rounds, but a man hearing the final bell in his professional boxing debut against an undefeated prizefighter has to be considered a Rocky Balboa-esque victory.
