Formula One star Kimi Antonelli has been involved in a car crash just days before pre-season testing begins in Bahrain.
The 19-year-old's car crashed into a guardrail in Serravalle, San Marino, as per Autosport.
Fortunately, the young star was unharmed in the incident.
Autosport reported Antonelli was driving a Mercedes AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ “Motorsport Collectors Edition”, a rare limited edition with just 200 of the type made.
He was reportedly gifted the £180,000 car by Mercedes less than a week ago.
Five days ago on Instagram, Mercedes' F1 team posted an image of Antonelli next to the car with the caption: "New year, new company car for Kimi Antonelli."
That aged well...
It is understood that no other cars were involved in the crash.
The news of the incident was confirmed by Mercedes, who said: “Last Saturday evening, near his home in San Marino, Kimi was involved in a road accident.
“The police attended the scene after being called by Kimi. His was the only car involved and, although the vehicle sustained damage, Kimi was completely unharmed.”

The first day of F1 Bahrain testing starts on Wednesday with the crash not expected to affect participation.
Antonelli was signed by Mercedes in 2024 as a replacement for Lewis Hamilton after who left for Ferrari.
