Everyone made the same joke following Aston Villa striker’s moment of misery

Poor chap

Ben Kiely

It happens, Scott Hogan. It happens.

It doesn’t happen very often now, Scott Hogan. but surely you will find solace in the knowledge that it is unlikely to happen again anytime soon.

In fact, it happens so rarely that you will probably find solace in the knowledge that it is unlikely to happen again anytime soon.

For the select few of you who are unaware of what exactly happened to Hogan on Tuesday night, he put in a man of the match performance… for the opposition. Aston Villa’s Championship clash Middlesbrough ended in a goalless draw, all because he cleared what would have been a late, late Conor Hourihane winner off the line.

Two points were dropped leaving Villa languishing in 18th place, three points above the relegation zone. However, the draw left Boro in a not-too-shabby ninth place.

For Villa supporters, Boro fans and neutrals alike, they all saw something in Hogan that had been previously unseen.

For them, this proves once and for all that Hogan isn’t a striker, but rather, his calling lies at the other end of the pitch.
