Everton’s Richarlison linked with shock move to Liverpool that definitely isn’t going to happen

Simon Lloyd

Not. Going. To. Happen.

The football season is nearly over, meaning transfer gossip is already rising sharply. And judging by one report from Brazil, it seems silly season has arrived a couple of months early.

Everton’s Richarlison, who only arrived at Goodison Park from Watford last summer, could be set for another move. In itself, nothing too outrageous about that. But the fact that Liverpool have been named as a possible next destination, however, is where things start to seem a little far-fetched.

The 21-year-old Brazilian international has done enough this season to turn heads, and UOL Esporte says Liverpool are amongst those interested.

Richarlison

The same report says that Jürgen Klopp has met the player’s agent, Renato Velasco – enough for them to suggest a big money fee may be exchanged across Stanley Park.

Of course, this deal isn’t going to happen, but moves to Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan – also named in the report as admirers of the player – seem more believable. Much more believable.

Richarlison became the most expensive signing in Everton’s history when he arrived last July, meaning he wouldn’t be allowed to leave for anything other than a huge amount. His impressive early season form saw him called up the Brazilian national side, scoring twice on his full debut against El Salvador.

Everton sit tenth in the Premier League at present; their great local rivals in second and chasing their first league crown in nearly 30 years.
