Everton fans single out Tim Howard as Goodison Park’s weakest link

It was not a good weekend for Tim Howard.

Many blame his laissez-faire approach to dealing with crosses into his area for Everton's defeat to Arsenal. It certainly isn't the first time in recent games that the American has been singled out for his gaffes. The Liverpool Echo conducted a poll asking whether the 36-year-old should be dropped from Roberto Martinez's starting eleven and a whopping 86% answered in the affirmative. It looks like he will indeed be rested for Everton's Capital One Cup game with Norwich City on Tuesday, but is expected to return for the visit of Sunderland in the Premier League. Many Evertonians feel that his powers have waned significantly in recent seasons, particularly following his heroics at the 2014 World Cup, where he became a meme sensation.
