Emmanuel Eboue is eyeing up a return to Arsenal (seriously)

Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has admitted he would "love" to return to the Emirates Stadium.

The Ivory Coast international spent six years at Arsenal before joining Galatasaray in 2011, but he currently finds himself unattached after being released by the Turkish club. Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I came back for training [at Galatasaray] and was told I would not be playing. The president told the manager at the time no to pick me. The way I was treated was very unfair. "We are looking for options but I’d love to come back to Arsenal." While Eboue may be hoping for a reunion, it seems highly unlikely. Although he achieved cult status by the time he left, his first spell in North London was marred by consistent errors, and he was even booed off the pitch after being replaced during a match against Wigan in 2008 in which he had come on as a substitute. As things stand, the Gunners have a wealth of options at right-back with Hector Bellerin currently keeping Mathieu Debuchy out of the side, while Calum Chambers has also filled in that role and Carl Jenkinson remains an emergency option despite his loan to West Ham.
