Dortmund fans offer help to Monaco supporters following postponement of match

A lovely gesture

Fortunately, it seems the explosions near to Borussia Dortmund’s team bus which caused their Champions League game with Monaco to be postponed have not caused any serious injuries.

It’s since emerged that defender Marc Bartra was taken to hospital for treatment on what are being described as ‘superficial’ injuries.

Uefa have confirmed that the game will now take place on Wednesday at 5.45pm. With many Monaco supporters scheduled to leave Dortmund before then it seemed likely that there would be depleted numbers in the away end by the time of kick off.

However, Dortmund fans have now offered accommodation for Monaco supporters in a bid to help them stay on in the city for an extra night. Dortmund fans launched a #bedforawayfans campaign, offering Monaco supporters a roof over their heads for the night.

German police have confirmed that there were three explosions on or near the Dortmund team bus as it made its way to the stadium.

Those Monaco fans that were in the ground at the time the news began to filter through of the incident were thanked by Dortmund for their reaction to the news.
