Dillian Whyte isn’t ruling out a Dereck Chisora rematch

Dillian Whyte's slugfest with Dereck Chisora was the highlight of a busy Manchester Arena card last night.

The pair traded blows throughout a fight that was almost too tough to call, leading many to suggest the pair deserved a rematch. Sure, it was more in hope than expectation, with Whyte under no responsibility to take on his fellow Londoner again after his split decision victory. But the Jamaican-born heavyweight has suggested he might not be averse to taking on Chisora once more.

"It was an excellent fight and there may be a potential rematch there," Whyte told Sky Sports.

"It could have been one of those fights where I boxed and moved, but I thought 'listen, the fans have paid their money, and we promised them a duel, so we are going to get it on'."

The 28-year-old will have more than a few potential opponents queuing up after extending his career record to 20-1, but that will rest with promoter Eddie Hearn. "We will see what Eddie wants to do and where he wants to go with it," Whyte said. Perhaps his next bout will be on an Anthony Joshua undercard once more, with the IBF world heavyweight champion's long-awaited fight with Wladimir Klitschko pencilled in for Wembley Stadium next year.
