Tony Bellew is leaving it up to his promoter to figure out his next step.
Bellew was initially slated to meet British rival David Haye on December 17 but a bicep injury to ‘The Hayemaker’ forced him out of the much anticipated rematch.
A press release from Matchroom Boxing stated that the hope was to reschedule the fight for early 2018 but, given Haye’s recent history with injuries, Bellew may be forced to go in a different direction.
Tyson Fury made his availability known for a meeting with Bellew next May but, on the off chance that ‘The Bomber’ still wants to take to the ring next month, he’s got an interesting offer on the table.
Recently crowned WBC Silver heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte has admitted that he would be interested in stepping in for Haye to fight Bellew on just four weeks’ notice.

Whyte fought 12 rounds just three weeks ago, defeating Robert Helenius to make it six wins on the bounce for ‘The Body Snatcher’.
But the 29-year-old would not shy away from the quick turnaround and maintains that he will be ready, willing and able to close the show on December 17.
Whether or not that fight would interest Bellew remains to be seen but the Liverpool heavyweight has placed his trust in Eddie Hearn to make the right call.
“It’s a big disappointment but as always I leave my career in the hands of Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing who will get me back in there ASAP,” Bellew said on Monday afternoon.
