Manchester United will be interested...

Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a summer move to Manchester United in recent months.

And it doesn’t look like the rumours will be going away anytime soon.

Over the past year, the Atletico Madrid forward has cemented his status as one of the world’s best players. He starred for the Spanish club in La Liga and the Champions League, before excelling at Euro 2016.

Griezmann was part of the French team that lost the final on home soil to Portugal. However, he was still named best player at the tournament and finished top scorer.

The 25-year-old’s productive year ended with him being named the third best player of the world, behind all-time greats Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

On the back of such success, the rest of Europe’s top clubs are bound to take notice.

Manchester United showed last summer, with the signing Griezmann’s pal Paul Pogba, they are prepared to break a world record to sign a player.

A €100m deal for Griezmann is well within the realms of possibility.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone has been asked about the interest in his player, and about the possibility of his player leaving, and he responded in a very calm manner.

“I don’t tie anybody down. I simply work in order to continue getting better for the good of the club,” the 46-year-old said this week.

“He [Griezmann] is in an extraordinary moment, he is working well, he has got back on the scoresheet. He is currently in great form and it’s normal that the top clubs in the world want him.

“I’m not surprised that those that can afford him are seeking him.”

Simeone also faces an uncertain future at the club. The Argentine’s contract expires in 2018.
