Diego Maradona is no stranger to major tournament controversies, and he's spoken up after the penalty that helped Mexico reach the Gold Cup final.

Panama were furious with the decision from American referee Mark Geiger, and Maradona has called for the official to be fired. The former Argentina manager, who also wants the game to be replayed, has no personal stake in the matter. Argentina lost that game 1-0 to West Germany after a controversial penalty was awarded by Edgardo Codesal, a Uruguayan-born Mexican referee.
