The West Coast wasn’t too kind to Tyson Fury last month, perhaps he’ll have better luck with the judges on the East
The groans that followed the judges’ decision at the end of Fury’s WBC title clash with Deontay Wilder had barely subsided when talk shifted to a rematch.
Most felt that ‘The Gypsy King’ had done more than enough to get the win but two judges disagreed and instead, a split draw was declared.
With both men seeking closure, as well as an even larger payday, negotiations for Wilder vs. Fury II have been ongoing since the turn of the year and while Fury’s team entertained the idea of a UK stadium hosting the rematch, the financial benefits of staging the second clash in America were always going to be difficult to ignore.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren was adamant that he would not return to Los Angeles after the judging last time around but was discussing the possibility of Las Vegas.
Now it turns out that New York is set to host Wilder vs. Fury II as Brooklyn’s Barclays Center has been selected for the rematch, according to a report from Boxing Scene.
A date has yet to be decided although it’s reported that they are down to two potential dates in either April 27 or May 18.
“It’ll be announced real soon,” Wilder said of the rematch last weekend. “Maybe in about two weeks or so it’ll be announced.
“We’re just getting all the little things in order and we’re gonna announce it and have another epic fight.”
Elsewhere in the heavyweight division, it’s been reported that Anthony Joshua’s team has made a formal offer to Brooklyn heavyweight Jarrell Miller to fight in Madison Square Garden on June 1.
With April 13 at Wembley still booked, an agreement with Miller for June would likely force Eddie Hearn to cancel his spring show in London.
