David Luiz just scored a comedy own goal against West Brom

He's had a nightmare here...

Paris St Germain are playing West Brom? Why weren’t we informed of this?

The French champions were taking on the mighty Midlanders in a pre-season friendly of monumental proportions.

Okay, it wasn’t really a massive game of epic proportions. But for West Brom fans it’s probably not that often you’re going to see your team run out against one of the biggest teams in Europe, even if it is a pre-season kickabout.

The Baggies were taking on PSG over in Austria at the Schladming Athletic Arena as part of their Premier League preparations.

Tony Pulis said before the match that he wasn’t bothered about any pre-season results but he just wanted the game to get his players’ fitness firing.

Try telling that to PSG defender David Luiz though. It might be a nothing game, but he’s had an absolute mare.

The former Chelsea man, who signed for the Ligue 1 club for £50m, did West Brom’s work for them.

A hopeful cross was sent into the box by West Brom and it didn’t look like Luiz was particularly under pressure, but somehow he’s made an utter hash of it.

What probably should have been a routine clearance from the ‘world’s most expensive defender’ ended up with him looking like a pub team lump hammer and the ball in the back of his own net.

It was almost in slow motion. Real car crash defending. The look on his face says it all…

Twitter on both sides of The Channel found it particularly amusing. But there was also equal concern for his iconic hair do…
