“Gone way too soon my brother.”

The world of sport woke up this morning to the shocking news that one of the all-time rugby greats, Jonah Lomu, had sadly passed away. Details of Lomu’s death remain unclear but it was sudden and unexpected with Lomu only having arrived back in Auckland from abroad on Tuesday. The All-Blacks legend had suffered with a rare kidney disease known as nephrotic syndrome since hanging up his boots in 2002. He underwent a kidney transplant in 2004 and had been on dialysis treatment for the last 10 years. Tributes to Lomu, who announced himself to the world with a series of amazing performances at the 1995 Rugby World Cup, have been flooding in this morning and none were more poignant than this from Dan Carter, who starred in New Zealand’s victory in the Rugby World Cup last month. https://twitter.com/DanCarter/status/666890125834481664
