Conor McGregor reveals he’s negotiating an absolutely gargantuan UFC contract

If things keep going at this rate, McGregor's wallet is going to weigh more than him.

McGregor gave a pretty memorable interview on a special 300th episode of the MMA Hour on Monday night. The Notorious revealed to host Ariel Helwani that he is currently in talks with the UFC over a huge new contract.

"Now the contract I'm talking about is nine-figures. NINE FIGURES I'm talking. Nobody in the game has got nine figures. I'm talking 100 million plus. So that's where I'm at and I've done it the way I've done it."

Helwani was a understandably a bit surprised by McGregor's claim and asked him if he really thought he would be able to squeeze that much money out of the UFC brass. McGregor stood firm, saying he believes he will definitely be signing a nine-figure contract with the promotion.

"When you're bringing in 50-60 million revenue on a fight where the main event guy has pulled out two weeks before, you think anyone else can do that?" "This next one (UFC 194) we're estimating a gate of 10 million. 10 million dollars just for the gate alone. This is going to bring in 90-100 million dollars this card here. So you're damn right I'd get it."

McGregor then explained how he apparently convinced the UFC head honchos to part with so much cash in order to keep him at the promotion.

"I came at them with facts, I came at them with numbers. I didn't go roundabout, I looked them in the eye with straight facts. When somebody comes at you with clear facts, clear numbers, there's only one thing you can do in that situation - respect it. You've got to respect good business. If you can't respect good business, then that's on you." "So, I'm very confident that we'll come to a deal and it will be in the nine-figure mark."
