No Pacquiao, no Malignaggi, no WWE.
Conor McGregor has confirmed that he wants his next fight to take place in the UFC, after taking over a year away from the Octagon.
McGregor’s last fight under the UFC banner came in November 2016, when he made history in New York City by becoming the first fighter in the organisation’s history to hold a title in two different weight classes simultaneously.
While he has since parted ways with the featherweight crown, ‘The Notorious’ remains the UFC lightweight king but he has yet to defend his title, deciding instead to spend the first half of 2017 preparing for a boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather and spending the last few months of the year enjoying the fruits of that labour.
After being stopped by Mayweather in August, McGregor’s next move will be an interesting one as several fighters want a piece of’ the Irishman and the payday that comes with it.

He’s being urged to defend his 155lbs crown against interim champion Tony Ferguson, the history with UFC featherweight champ Max Holloway makes that potential rematch a fascinating option and the rubber match with Nate Diaz always remains a tantalising contest.
A move to welterweight, albeit unadvised, could also take place and then there are the host of boxers looking to clash with McGregor as the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Paulie Malignaggi and Oscar De La Hoya have all made clear their desire to fight him.
On Friday night, TMZ asked MGregor what he wanted to do next and he confirmed that he will be returning to the Octagon.
“I think a true fight is what I want to do next,” McGregor said.

UFC President Dana White insisted that McGregor’s boxing days are done after fans began complaining about the fact that they didn’t get to see ‘The Notorious’ don the 4oz. gloves in 2017.
McGregor was also asked about the recent rumours that he could make an appearance at WrestleMania 34 and, just like the legendary D-Generation X, McGregor had two words for us.
“Fuck WWE!” he said.
