Chris Jordan pulls off jaw-dropping catch in T20 vs India

England's Chris Jordan pulled off an outrageous catch against India in the decisive T20 match, but won't be credited for his genius on the scorecard

Sadly he won’t be credited with the catch

Chris Jordan brought some brief joy to a difficult innings for England with a genius piece of fielding on the boundary to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav.

In the decisive T20 match of the five game series, India raced ahead in the early stages, with Rohit Sharma racking up 64 runs before he was bowled out by Ben Stokes.

But England did eventually start taking wickets, the most spectacular of which came from an Adil Rashid ball, smashed to the boundary by Yadav, only for it to be caught by Jordan, and then finally Jason Roy.

Racing across the boundary to reach the ball, Jordan caught the ball one handed, using his other for balance. In order to avoid touching the rope and therefore awarding all six runs to India, he then chucked the ball to the nearby Jason Roy, whose reaction tells you everything you need to know about how good the initial catch was.

It is unlikely to make enough of a dent in India’s innings to give England much chance of pulling it back in the second innings, with the hosts on 205-2 after 18.2 overs.

England will have to be at the very top of their batting game to have any hope of clinching this series. But as this white ball team have shown, they should never be written off.
