Chile boss ignores Arsenal concerns over Alexis Sanchez injury

The sight of Alexis Sanchez hobbling off the pitch was the one negative for Arsenal fans as they watched their side’s recent 3-0 humbling of Manchester United.

Despite admitting that he was fully aware of the injury, Chile boss Jorge Sampaoli still played Sanchez for a full 90 minutes against Brazil.

“Alexis arrived not at his top form, with pain in the adductor,” Sampaoli is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

“He couldn’t play at 100 per cent but we thought that for us him not playing was to give too much advantage to our rivals because his presence in our team makes things difficult for our opponents.”

The news is sure to anger Arsene Wenger and his medical team who expressed their fears to Sampaoli that the former Barcelona man would make the injury worse by playing for his national side.

It’s not clear if Sanchez did aggravate the injury and it’s also unclear if he will feature in the midweek game against Peru before returning to London.
