Chelsea to make final push for midfield target

Tom Victor

Chelsea have not given up hope of signing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, but the France international is unlikely to leave Turin this summer.

The Blues are prepared to up their bid for the former Manchester United player to £69m to help combat their disappointing start to the Premier League season.

But according to The Sun, Pogba would only be interested in moving on from Juve next summer.

Pogba scored 10 goals from midfield last season as Juventus retained their Serie A title and reached the final of the Champions League.

But the Bianconeri have struggled at the start of the current campaign, losing their first two league matches for the first time ever.

That still seems unlikely to be enough to sway the 22-year-old, though, so Chelsea may turn their attention to other midfield targets.
