Chelsea are likely soon to have a new shirt sponsor over a month into the Premier League season, it has been confirmed.
The men's side have been sponsorless so far this season, after Infinite Athlete decided not to extend their agreeement.
The women's side, the reigning champions of the Women's Super League, on the other hand, have Three as their telecommunications partner and shirt sponsor.
And according to The Athletic, the men's side have had short-term agreements with sponsors due to the fear that they would miss out on a long-term agreement - should they qualify for the illustrious Champions League during that period.
However since then, the situation has changed, with the Blues close to a new agreement now.
According to highly regarded Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, the Blues are in talks with a variety of major brands.
One of the major brands is in fact Qatar Airways, with Solhekol revealing all:
"Chelsea are in talks with Qatar Airways about a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal.
"They're also in talks with two other airlines as well. But it would be significant if they did a deal with Qatar Airways.
"They have, in the past, sponsored Barcelona and PSG."
Solhekol added: "A lack of Champions League football means that it has been more difficult for Chelsea to find the right deal.
"One source has told us that Chelsea are close to doing a deal with Qatar Airways.
"But my understanding, at the moment, is that deal is not close. But they are in talks with Qatar Airways."
