Manuel Pellegrini's side will host Real first at the Etihad before heading to the Spanish capital a week later.
In the other semi-final, Atletico will welcome Bayern Munich in the first leg before travelling to Germany.
The first legs will be played on Tuesday April 26 and Wednesday April 27, with the returns being played on May 3 and May 4.
