The 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer and, according to Sky Sports, Chelsea are nearing an agreement with AS Monaco over his sale.
Although Sarri has expressed a desire to keep Fabregas, it's thought his move to the Ligue 1 side will be finalised soon - possibly ahead of Chelsea's League Cup game away at Tottenham in midweek.
Should Fabregas move to Monaco, he will be reunited with former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry, who is currently their manager.
Henry took over the struggling side earlier in the season but has so far been unable to lift them out of the relegation zone. They currently sit in 19th, having lost their last game to bottom club Guingamp.
