Carlo Ancelotti to sue Everton in high court

The Everton board have already been under intense pressure

The Real Madrid boss' lawyers filed a claim against Everton - who the Italian left two years ago - on Friday, according to court laws via The Guardian.

Although brief, the details state that the claim relates to "general commercial contracts and arrangements".

It comes at a time when the Toffees, who have struggled with financial issues in recent years, face an ongoing battle to raise enough funds to build their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Ancelotti's latest claim now looks as if further pressure will be placed on the Everton board as the club face the likelihood of a mass squad overhaul despite avoiding relegation to the Championship on the final day of the season.

Furthermore, it may also prove to be detrimental to club majority owner Farhad Moshiri, who is looking for added investment.

Last month the Toffees took out a bridging loan to provide funds for the club while negotiations over an investment deal continue.

Reports have claimed that Moshiri is close to finding an investigator, but the extent as to how far down the line talks are is something that hasn't been revealed.
