Pep Guardiola sets date to leave Man City

The Guardian claim that the Catalan, who signed a new deal last November, will not renew his contract and will call time on his tenure in the north west, where he'll have spent nine years at the club by the time 2025 rolls around.

After joining in 2016, it was widely expected that Guardiola wouldn't be at the club for any longer than three years after only spending that long at his previous role at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Guardiola's next steps are undecided with initial reports claiming that he may be interested in a move to Italy, however there are now rumours that he may move into international management once his time at City is done.

Under Guardiola's stewardship City have become one of the most dominant teams, winning five of the last six Premier League titles and are unsurprisingly overwhelming favourites to retain their crown again next year.

Man City also became the first English side since Manchester United in 1999 to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season after their 1-0 win against Inter Milan, winning their first European title in the process.

City's boss is also hopeful that Ilkay Gündoğan will commit to signing a new deal. The captain, who has been in exceptional form towards the end of the season, could leave the club for free at the end of this month and has reported interest from Saudi Arabia.

Gündoğan, who will turn 33 in December, is also believed to have a three-year deal on the table from Barcelona. Mateo Kovačić meanwhile is set to be one of the first signings of the new season for the Citizens.
