You can't help but feel sorry for another Neil Taylor

Whenever Neil Taylor does something untoward on the pitch, you can bet your bottom dollar another Neil Taylor is going to hear all about it.

The footballer came under fire for his deplorable challenge on Seamus Coleman during Wales' goalless draw with the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Friday night.

Taylor was shown a straight red, and Coleman was taken off the pitch on a stretcher while being given Oxygen after breaking his leg.

Emotions were high after Ireland lost their captain, and as you might expect, a lot of people took to Twitter to voice their vitriol. However, some of it was aimed at the wrong place entirely.

Neil Taylor, the Welsh footballer who plays at club level for Aston Villa, doesn't have a Twitter account. On the other hand, Neil Taylor, the ex-Councillor from Timperley, does.

The latter has been receiving some abuse on social media by virtue of having an infamous namesake.

Although he took everything that was thrown his way like a pro, Taylor still had to clear the case of mistaken identity up.

Not only is not a footballer, he doesn't even like the beautiful game.

Just in case there was still some confusion, Taylor had an alibi for Friday night's game.

He assured everyone that no legs were broken on his watch the other night. He was too busy tucking into some curry to get up to anything like that.
