Burnley are interviewing an ex-Premier League manager after the sacking of Nicky Hayen was confirmed on Saturday evening.
The Clarets parted ways with the Belgian gaffer after just one victory in their opening 12 Championship matches.
A favourite for instant promotion back to the Premier League, the club instead sit in the bottom three of the second tier, with results needed to be improved rapidly.
Now, the club are in talks with Rob Edwards over the vacant managerial position, with the club interviewing the former Wolves boss on Monday.
Edwards initially turned down an approach from the club this summer before they appointed Hayen.
Previously promoted with Luton Town in the Championship, Edwards has been out of work since leaving Wolves in June after seven months in charge.
Former West Brom boss Carlos Corberan had also previously emerged as a contender to replace Hayen, though it has since been confirmed that he is not interested in the vacancy.
Corberan is instead waiting for a Premier League job to arise after his sacking from Valencia.
