Mohamed Salah left out of Egypt’s starting line-up against Uruguay

Mohamed Salah has been left out of the starting 11 for Egypt’s game against Uruguay.

The shock news comes after it was reported that he had been passed as fit to play in Egypt’s opening group game.

The game between Egypt and Uruguay could well decide who tops Group A, as Russia and Saudi Arabia have significantly weaker squads. The omission will raise concerns for the North Africas as he is their talisman player.

The Liverpool forward sustained an injury playing in the Champions League final as he fell to the ground after locking arms with Sergio Ramos.

Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny and West Bromwich Albion’s Ahmed Hegazy have been named in the squad.
