Derby County have appointed former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard as manager after the departure of Gary Rowett to Stoke City. The 39-year-old has been working as a pundit with the BBC and BT Sport since finishing his playing career in 2016 at New York City FC. He had spent the previous season with Manchester City. https://twitter.com/dcfcofficial/status/1002098606269239296 Lampard will take over a side which has consistently positioned close to the top of the Championship table in recent seasons, but one which has been dogged with accusations of a mentality due to a high number of late-season collapses. His predecessor, Rowett, brought the team to the Championship play-offs last season, where they were eliminated by eventual play-off winners Fulham.
