Borussia Dortmund have turned down several bids from Arsenal, but are still willing to sell Aubameyang

Arsenal can have him if they stop messing about.

As Arsenal's pursuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continues, Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc issued a statement laying out in no uncertain terms what must happen for them to sell the striker. The statement read:

"We have a clear position. As in the summer in the case of Barcelona (who signed Ousmane Dembele for around £135m), we are ready to realise a transfer under certain conditions – but only if these conditions are fully met. Arsenal have made several attempts so far. All have been refused."

Dortmund recently named their asking price of €70m for Aubameyang, but it seems Arsenal are consistently bidding below the asking price and having every bid batted away. It wouldn't be the first time Arsenal tried and failed to lowball a club for a striker. They famously bid £40,000,001 for Luis Suárez when the Uruguayan was angling for a move away from Liverpool. Opportunities to sign players of Aubameyang's quality do not come around often and Arsenal will regret letting this one slip if they are serious about bringing the Gabon international to the Emirates. He would give Arsenal's attack a new dimension with his running in behind and the potential for him to link up with Mesut Özil and new arrival Henrikh Mkhitaryan will have Arsenal fans rubbing their thighs in excitement. Now the Arsenal hierarchy must lay down the full sum and we'll be able to put this saga to bed.
