Barcelona willing to offer player as part of Philippe Coutinho deal, report claims

Perhaps this would soften the blow?

Another day, another round of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona rumours…

Jürgen Klopp has made it clear on several occasions this summer that he has no intention of letting the Brazilian leave Liverpool this summer. Despite this, the press over in Spain don’t appear to be getting the message that the deal is a no go…

One of the latest reports, which comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, suggests that Barcelona would be willing to offer a player as part of a bid to land Coutinho. That player is Portuguese international, Andre Gomes, who only arrived at the club from Valencia last summer.

Gomes, who was also linked with Real Madrid a year ago, has failed to live up to expectations at Barca and may now be used as a makeweight in a deal to bring Coutinho to Spain.

This isn’t the first time in recent days that reports have suggested the Catalonian giants might consider including a player-plus-cash move for Coutinho, with the same newspaper also suggesting Rafinha might head to Anfield last week.

As well as their interest in Coutinho, Barcelona are also thought to be pursuing Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old French international only moved to Germany last summer but could reportedly move to Barca for as much as half of the £200m fee they received for Neymar.
