Aston Villa’s new badge says everything about the current mess of the club

Sometimes in football the jokes write themselves.

Not that there's much to laugh about for Aston Villa supporters at this moment in time. A disastrous season sees the former European champions propping up the Premier League, with relegation a near-certainty. With a stint in the second tier of English football fast approaching, Villa have announced that the club's badge is to be refreshed, with the design below appearing on club shirts from the start of next season. https://twitter.com/mattlyynch/status/717750554932428800 Most of you will immediately recognise that the badge is almost identical to their current design. See if you can spot the difference...   Yes, that's right. The *only* noticeable difference is that the word 'prepared' has vanished from the crest.
