Arsenal have been given a concerning Martin Odegaard injury update as the North London derby rapidly approaches.
Away on international duty with Norway, his national side beat Austria 2-1 in the Nations League as Erling Haaland scored the winner.
However, the national team and Arsenal were handed a fresh blow as Odegaard limped off injured.
Soon to resume their campaign following a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion, the North London derby against none other than Tottenham Hotspur is this Sunday.
Arsenal's medical team contacted Norway's staff to find out the extent of the injury straight away.
Norway boss Stale Solbakken, however, stated that the scenes from inside the dressing room weren't great.
He claims the injury 'looked bad' as he referenced Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta when asked about Odegaard.
"It looked bad in the dressing room too,", the manager stated. "He didn't have the nerve to continue. It is not certain that [Mikel] Arteta will call me tonight and praise me."
Norway doctor Ola Sand then confirmed that Odegaard suffered a 'small sprain' in his ankle, stating: "He got a small ankle sprain. We will see, maybe we use ultrasound to look at it.
"If we are unsure, there will be an MRI tomorrow."
Riccardo Calafiori also limped off versus France for Italy.
The Gunners face a tough fixture list, with Manchester City, Atalanta and Paris Saint-Germain in the coming weeks.
