Only a matter of hours after we claimed that Wayne Rooney had scored a goal-of-the-season contender, Charlie Adam made fools out of us and Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with a glorious strike from his own half...
The wonderful vision and amazing technique of the epic hit has earned comparisons to David Beckham's long-range effort against Wimbledon back in 1996, but if anything it was even further out.
