Alvaro Morata has given Manchester United fans even more hope that he’ll be joining

This is how football works in 2017.

It appears that Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata will become Jose Mourinho’s first signing of the summer after various outlets in Spain reported that a deal is all but agreed.

The former Juventus striker will pen a 5-year-deal at Old Trafford and will cost United a hefty fee of £64m (€73m).

The club have moved fast to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic with Morata expected to fly into Manchester on Monday to complete the move.

Despite seeing his opportunities limited at the Bernabéu, Morata has an extremely good strike rate this season having scored 15 times in just 26 La Liga matches. He also chipped in with 3 Champions League goals as Zidane’s side made history by retaining the trophy.

Mourinho will know all about the player having coached him before, and it appears that the 24-year-old striker has already checked out of Madrid – well, that’s going by his Twitter account anyway.

Eagle eyed fans noticed that Morata has removed Real Madrid from his social media accounts and given that this is how football operates in 2017, Manchester United fans have already started to get excited.
