We have reached the penultimate day of competition
After 15 long days of elite sporting competition, the Paris 2024 Olympics are almost at their end with two days remaining.
However, until the final event, Team GB will be hoping to keep their medal tally ticking over with points for pride on the line.
GB currently sit 5th in the medal table, one singular silver ahead of France, while Australia sit in 3rd with a lead of four golds, a target for GB to aim for.
The day got started early with the men’s marathon which was won by Ethiopia’s Tamirat Tola in an Olympic record time.
Round four of the women’s golf will be going on in the morning with both British golfers out of medal contention.
Diving kicks off at 9am with Noah William and Kyle Kothari in the men’s 10m platform semi-final.
The women’s modern pentathlon continues at 09:20 with Kate French and Kerenza Bryson in the bonus round of the fencing in the semi-final.
At 11am, Rebecca McGowan will fight in the 67kg women’s Taekwondo round of 16 carrying GB’s hopes after Jade Jones unfortunate first round exit.
While at 11:35, Erin McNeice will look to climb her way to gold in the women’s boulder and lead final, replicating GB’s Toby Roberts in the men’s competition.

At 13:40, there will be a huge fight for Caden Cunnigham in the men’s 80kg Taekwondo quarter-finals.
Later in the afternoon at 16:00, eyes will turn to the velodrome as Emma Finucane and Sophie Capewell race in the women’s sprint quarter-finals.
Emma Finucane carries plenty of expectation into this event as reigning world champion.
Twenty minutes later Jack Carlin and Hamish Turnbull will be competing in the first round of the men’s keirin while half an hour after them Oliver Wood and Ethan Hayter will race in the madison final.
At 17:10 the men’s modern pentathlon will come to an end as Joseph Choong competes in the fencing final.
And as per usual, the athletics will be underway from 18:00 with Max Burgin running in the men’s 800m final.
In the pool, GB will be competing in the final of the artistic swimming, otherwise known as synchronised swimming at 18:30.
At 18:50 George Mills will race in the final of the men’s 5000m while the big one will be at 19:15 as Laura Muir, one of Britain’s best runners, races in the women’s 1500m alongside Georgia Bell.
There may be less chances to medal today, but GB will be hoping to upset the applecart where they can in these final days of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
