Alf Inge Haaland has denied allegations that he was “throwing peanuts” after he was spotted being escorted from his seat during Real Madrid’s Champions League semi final against Manchester City.

Inge Haaland was seen waving and cupping his ears towards the home fans after Kevin De Bruyne’s equaliser before being removed from the hospitality section.

Some accused the 50-year-old of throwing food however there was no evidence to confirm this and the father of free-scoring Erling Haaland responded to the allegations on social media.

“I did not. Not true.We had some good banter with Madrid fans. They were not happy when City scored. Typical. Then we had to move 50 meters away. Nothing more. All happy. Well nearly…” he said on Twitter.

An earlier tweet from Inge Haaland added that they weren’t removed from the ground, but moved to a different area of the stadium following the dispute with the Los Blancos support.

The second leg is evenly poised between the two sides after Pep Guardiola’s men came from behind to go in with it all to play for at the Eithad Stadium next week.

Vinicius Jr opened the scoring with a thunderous long-range effort in the first half before De Bruyne responded with a pile-driver of his own ahead of next week’s showdown.
