The football world is still reeling from FIFA president Gianni Infantino's sensational plan to sell off parts of the World Cup to private investors — and UEFA's seismic response, voting unanimously to boycott the tournament if it goes ahead.
With CONCACAF and the AFC also rejecting the plan, though stopping short of a full boycott, Infantino looks unlikely to have the support to push it through. That would open the door for UEFA to return well before the next World Cup in 2030.
