It is thought that Chairboys' striker Akinfenwa confronted away supporters when a section of them aimed a vile chant in his direction.
Akinfenwa - who was a substitute for the match - was abused as he was warming up on the sidelines.
He was seen angrily confronting the Dons fans, and it is believed that stewards ejected at least one supporter.
MK Dons took to twitter to ask their fans to refrain from signing the chant about Akinfenwa, writing: "We ask that the #MKDons fans please refrain from singing that chant. Let’s get behind the boys".
