The former Argentina international has recently embarked on his own venture into management, taking the reins at Serie B side Modena in Italy.
During an interview with FOX Sport on Italian TV, the former Chelsea striker spoke in glowing terms about former bosses Jose Mourinho and Claudio Ranieri.
But when asked about former Monday Night Football pundit Neville, Crespo changed his tune considerably.
"To watch a game from the TV, it's very different from the bench. I'm almost happy for Gary Neville's troubles at Valencia. I remember he was too harsh as a TV pundit."
