If they make a mistake, it very often proves to be a costly one.
A reminder of this came from Australia on Friday, where Western Sydney Wanderers' Vedran Janjetovic inexplicably decided to nudge an overhit long ball over the top out for a last gasp corner for Brisbane Roar.
The Wanderers were leading 2-1, with the game into the final minute of added-on time. Had Janjetovic allowed the ball to run out for a goal kick, it would almost certainly have proven to be the final action of the game and the win would've been secured.
Inevitably, though, the resulting corner allowed the home side to snatch an equaliser: Adam Taggart heading home to tie the game up at 2-2.

The Wanderers had been comfortable for most of the game, moving into a two-goal lead three minutes before half-time. Incredibly, Roar only halved the deficit with two minutes of stoppage time played, shortly before Janjetovic presented them with the chance to snatch a draw.
